Food: the noodles taste good! But the meat is a little bit hard Service: friendly and nice! Ambiance: the furnishing is the industrial style, and they play music. The price is affordable, one ramen is about 15 dollars.

Delightful surprise at Junpuu on King Street across from Blaisdell Center concert hall. Seating inside and out. Cold and hot ramen and drinks available. We had light wonderful gyoza with Tonkotsu garlic ramen plus a tan tan ramen for good measure. The broth of both were substantial and flavorful. The pork slices were large and delicious. Sun noodle supplies a custom made noodle for this traditional ramen shop. One variation from tradition is a chicken ramen with yuzu that is new on the menu. Staff was professional and courteous. Although the pace is brisk, you never feel rushed. Music choices were great as well. Hands down excellent!

We ordered the Vegan Tantan it was really delicious!! I loved how they departed the noodles from the broth and put the spinach on the side so when we got home all the way to Waimanalo it was pipping hot and not soggy!! For sure we'll be back again!!

Found this recommended with high ratings on Yelp and had to give it a try given all the tasty Asian food you can find in Hawaii! I ordered the Spicy Tonkatsu ramen (base level 1 spicy and the regular portion) and it was perfect! Not spicy imo at all but had the right flavor I was looking for when I order spicy ramens. The noodles were nicely al dente and the broth was flavorful without being too oily and heavy. I was really surprised that I finished my bowl without feeling too bloated and full - their portion was just the right size for me but if you usually eat a bit more, they have a large option. Service was great - my server was an incredibly friendly Japanese lady who constantly checked in with me and made sure my water was filled. Inside is a bit small, they only have high top tables but they also have a few seats outside for those that want more summer air!

It was a rainy day and I felt like eating ramen, so Junpuu was my choice. We were lucky to get the last seats inside - it was a full house. Well, ramen is what I had but had the cold Tantanmen; spice leve 1. Ordered the large with extra noodles for an add'l $3.50 charge which gives about 50% more noodles than the regular size, I also added additional items for additional charge(s). The cold Tantanmen comes with noodles, minced meat, lettuce, cherry tomatoes, and a sesame sauce drizzled over everything. The extras [ajitama egg, bamboo shoots and mix (red) onions] added to the texture and flavor of the dish. Suggest that you mix all the ingredients to incorporate the sesame dressing (?) into all the ingredients. The combination of the chewy noodles, slight crunchiness of the lettuce and bamboo shoots paired with the sesame flavor complimented each other. The slight spice at the end enhanced the flavor of this cold noodle dish. I loved the ajitama egg with its ever-so-slight semi-cooked yolk. What can I say; you just can't go wrong with this, if this is your kind of food. I wasn't that hungry when I sat down and thought that maybe, I'd be taking a little left-over home, but I just couldn't stop eating. Ended-up finishing everything. It was just right. It's a toss-up between the cold Tantanmen and Tonkotsu ramen. And, I saw that they have a new item on their menu - Yuzu Chicken Ramen; that might be a possibility on my next visit...

Yummm! Delicious perfectly cooked ramen in a variety of delicious broths including tomato which is pretty unique. Overall the broths are pretty heavy, chicken is probably the lightest. The garlic tonkatsu was rich, flavorful, garlicky. The bowl came with 2 pieces of pork but you have to pay extra for a marinated egg. The noodles were perfectly bouncy and chewy. We also sampled their gyoza (crispy!) and two of the little side salads (the tantan and the rainbow quinoa; both very fresh and a nice green addition to the meal). I liked the variety in the menu but it was still focused and each item was done well. Service was fast, polite, and kind. It's pretty casual with indoor and outdoor seating. Will return! (check out the Aloha Bakehouse in the same building for a delicious post-meal treat).

If you're craving a local style ramen, definitely check them out! I love the spices they added on the spicy ramen, so if you love spicy food, definitely go for the spicy tonkotsu ramen! Service was really fast, considering how crowded it can be! The vibe is pretty chill, so it's a nice place to just get a quick ramen and get your cravings in! The portion is pretty big, so for its price, it's definitely worth to check out! The line can be pretty long during peak hours, so just watch out for this! Overall, really good local ramen place to check out!

My son wanted to eat here after watching Mike Chen's review. So we went and tried the Charshu quesadilla which tasted good, very flavorful, nice salad. As an appetizer we had the Homemade potato chips, which were large portion, good but a bit too salty. Maybe order them unsalted. The Garlic Tonkotsu ramen was rich and customized to my son's palette, which is relatively plain. Over all good food, good service. We will be back and try other dishes. Vegan tantanmen Yuzu chicken ramen

Stopped in after a hair appointment for a quick snack. I ordered the chicken karaage and garlic gyoza. Both came out pretty quickly. Chicken was crispy and flavorful. The gyoza were loaded with crispy fried garlic and really delicious. Service was very friendly. I have heard great things about their ramen so next time I will have to try.

Get the tomato ramen. This is the first thing I would say to someone if they told me they are interested in Junpuu. I was skeptical but now I believe lol. Unless you dislike tomatoes, I think everyone should at least try it! I've also enjoyed the garlic tonkotsu and garlic miso ramens. Both were great although I slightly prefer the former. Finally, I have tried the yuzu chicken ramen which was tasty and different. For sides, I had the garlic gyoza but actually would not recommend it over the plain, even though I am definitely a texture person. The gyoza was good, but I don't think the garlic made it any better. I still need to go back and try more - I'm looking at you, karaage and takoyaki... Service is friendly and fast. They can really turn tables here. Speaking of tables, there are several inside and outside. Parking is ample (street right out front which is free after 6pm M-Sa and on Sundays/holidays, and lot in the back).
